This comfortable detached villa (self catering) with private pool and pleasing garden has large terraces with lovely views of the nearby Montgri hills. The Villa Catalan enjoys the best of both worlds. The Montgri nature reserve with its rolling hills and rugged coves and the vibrant resort of Estartit with its picturesque harbor and expansive beach are both within easy walking distance. Also close at hand are supermarkets and restaurants.

The villa’s two floors each have a self contained apartment with large lounges and well equipped kitchens. There are 6 bedrooms (3 on each floor) and three bathrooms. Facilities include two barbecues, wifi two satellite TVs with DVD, two radio/ CD players, parking for two to three cars and laundry room with wash machine. There are plenty of sun beds to relax on by the pool and tables and chairs to dine al fresco in the garden. Both tastefully decorated lounges are in modern style with settees, easy chairs and pine dining suites. Central heating and a fireplace make it also ideal for winter.
The Villa:
Each floor of the two separate floors is a separate self contained apartment providing two families the oportunity of being together but having their own privacy. There are three bedrooms upstairs and three bedrooms downstairs. All the bedrooms have two beds which can be placed together to make a double or separated to make a twin. The upstairs rooms have lovely views of the Montgri hills. The downstairs rooms have views of the front garden.
The surroundings:
With its wide sandy beach (one of the finest in the med) and close proximity to rugged coast line and gentle hills Estartit blends perfectly the facilities of a vibrant coastal resort with easy access to the countryside. With the first ever preserved marine park in Spain, the diving is considered to be the finest in the Mediterranean. Not only the sea but also the hills behind the villa are protected providing a walker’s paradise with unspoilt coves and cliff top lookouts. The harbor area is ideal for a stroll and a drink or meal in the plentiful smart but inexpensive cafes and restaurants. With tennis courts a few minutes walk away, 72 holes of golf within a 15 minute drive, the best diving in the Med accessed from the local harbor and Dali country along with Barcelona and Girona with its historic old town all easily accessible the Villa Catalan is definitely the place to stay.

Bed sizes(metric): Upstairs five 180 by 90 beds and one 180 by 80 bed. Downstairs: five 180 by 90 beds and one 180 by 80 bed.
Bed room sizes: Upstairs left is 2.50 by 3.40 metres. Upstairs middle is 2.40 by 4.60 metres. Upstairs right is 3.45 by 2.43 metres. Downstairs left is 3.40 by 2.60 metres. Downstairs middle is 5.40 by 2.50 metres. Downstairs right is 3.37 by 2.41 metres.
There are two well equipped kitchens and two lounges in the villa. Ie as the villa is on two levels each with its own apartment, both floors have their own kitchen and lounge with TV. . There are three bedrooms on each floor. The top floor has a bath (140 cm by 70 cm) - shower with WC. The lower floor has shower with WC and there is another shower WC by the pool . 12 people could dine together in the upstairs lounge, (there are 8 permanent dining room seats and you can bring in extra seats from the terrace. There are 6 permanent dining room chairs in the downstairs lounge. Both lounges have sofa seating for 6 people (ie 12 all together). The upstairs lounge is 6.60 by 4.35 meters + kitchen 2.50 by 3.75 metres. The downstairs lounge is 4.30 by 7.10 metres including the kitchen area.
The washing machine/ dryer is in a separate drying room.
The swimming pool is 3 metres wide and 6.7 metres long.
Things to do:
There is a helpful tourist office to advise you with sightseeing and activity ideas. The Pyrenees meet the med just 45 minute’s drive away where Salvador Dali had his coastal retreat at Cadaques. Visit Barcelona on coach excursion or by train from Flaca (20 minutes drive or taxi ride away) plus Girona (45 minute’s drive) with its historic old town. Figueres (40 minute’s drive) is famous for the Salvador Dali museum. A few minutes drive inland Torroelle de Montgri is a must on Market day (Monday morning). Why not climb to the castle that dominates this historic old town. There is an excellent museum in the town. The Estartit beach is one of the best in the Med. You can wind surf, mountain bike, hike, golf, pitch and put, horse ride, dive, ride a quad bike, fish and sail. There are a number of popular water parks in the region. Aquadiver in Platja d’Aro offers a free bus transfer in the summer season. The “Aqua Brava” park in Roses is an easy drive away. In high season the Estartit tourist office offers free guided hikes to local scenic spots.
